How do I prevent bleeding when washing this multicolor shirt?

I have a black-and-white polyester empire-waist shirt from Le Chateau with a build-in red 'sash' at the front (which forms the empire waist). After wearing it once, I already see the red bleeding onto the white around it. How do I wash it without having it bleed more?
